What is rafter insulation?

Because the whole roof slope, the gables and the party walls now have to be insulated, this costs much more than insulating the floor and saves less heat for the money. It earns its place when you need a warm loft. More about rafter insulation.

Questions about rafter insulation in Llandrindod Wells

What do I need to do before you arrive in Llandrindod Wells?

Clear a path to the hatch and, if you can, move stored items away from the area we will be working in. Tell us about anything heavy or fragile.

Do you charge extra to travel to Llandrindod Wells?

Not normally. Our guide prices include normal travel to Llandrindod Wells. If an address needs a ferry or an unusually long journey, we tell you the cost before you book.

Can you visit Llandrindod Wells outside working hours?

Ask about early, late or weekend appointments when you get in touch, and we will tell you honestly what we can offer.

Will it cause condensation?

It can if the build-up is wrong for the roof. Old bitumen felt needs a ventilation gap behind the insulation; a modern breathable membrane may not. We check before we design it.

Can I use the loft as a bedroom after rafter insulation?

Insulation alone does not make a loft habitable. Fire escape, stairs, floor strength and headroom all come into a conversion, which needs building control.
