What is raised loft boarding?

Laying boards straight onto the joists compresses the insulation to the joist depth, which can halve its value, and can trap moisture under the boards. Loft legs screw to the joists and carry the boards at the right height. More about raised loft boarding.

Questions about raised loft boarding in Bishop's Stortford

How soon can you visit a home in Bishop's Stortford?

We call you back to agree a time that suits you, and confirm the date in writing. Availability changes week to week, so we will give you the earliest slot we have.

Will I get a written quote for work in Bishop's Stortford?

Yes. Every quote is in writing with the work, the price and what is included, so you can compare it properly.

Do you take on jobs outside Bishop's Stortford?

Yes. We also work in Ware and Hoddesdon and elsewhere in Hertfordshire.

Can you board the whole loft?

We can, but we usually advise boarding only what you need. Every boarded area costs more and makes later checks under the floor harder.

How much weight can a boarded loft take?

Ordinary household storage such as boxes and cases is fine on most lofts. Heavy items need the joists assessing. Trussed roofs are lighter than traditional cut roofs.
