What is a thermal imaging survey?
Thermal images work best when the house is heated and the outdoor temperature is low, ideally at least 10°C lower than indoors, so surveys are booked for cold mornings or evenings. We image the top-floor ceilings, the room-in-roof if you have one and the loft, and explain what each cold patch is likely to be. More about a thermal imaging survey.

Why book with us in Liskeard
Fixed written price
The price on the quote is the price you pay. It only changes if you change the job, or if we find something hidden, such as rot, and you agree the change in writing first.
Plain-English advice
We explain what we find in plain English, and say so when nothing needs doing.
No pressure selling
You get everything in writing and decide in your own time.
Clear contact details
Your quote says who to call with questions before, during and after the work.
How much does a thermal imaging survey cost in Liskeard?
This work is not an energy-saving material for VAT, so it is standard-rated if VAT applies. Where it is done alongside insulation, the quote shows each part separately.
Building regulations in England
In England, a loft insulated across more than half its area should reach a U-value of 0.16 W/m²K. Insulation alone is not usually notified to building control. How the rules work across the UK.
Questions about a thermal imaging survey in Liskeard
Will I get a written quote for work in Liskeard?
Yes. Every quote is in writing with the work, the price and what is included, so you can compare it properly.
Do you take on jobs outside Liskeard?
Yes. We also work in Saltash and Bodmin and elsewhere in Cornwall.
Do you charge extra to travel to Liskeard?
Not normally. Our guide prices include normal travel to Liskeard. If an address needs a ferry or an unusually long journey, we tell you the cost before you book.
When is the best time for a thermal imaging survey?
On a cold, still, dry day with the heating on for several hours. Bright sun or rain on the roof makes outside images unreliable.
Is a thermal imaging survey worth it?
It is most useful where a problem is hard to find or you want to check someone else's work. For a simple loft you can see into, a standard survey is usually enough.
