Why book with us in Hereford
Fixed written price
The price on the quote is the price you pay. It only changes if you change the job, or if we find something hidden, such as rot, and you agree the change in writing first.
Boarding done properly
Storage boards go on loft legs, never straight onto the insulation.
Tank and pipes protected
Every insulation job includes a tank jacket and pipe lagging, so nothing freezes in a colder loft.
Honest about grants
If you might qualify for funding, we tell you before we quote.
How much does sheep's wool or natural loft insulation cost in Hereford?
Installing insulation in a home is zero-rated for VAT until 31 March 2027 and 5% after that, under HMRC's rules for energy-saving materials (notice 708/6).
Building regulations in England
In England, a loft insulated across more than half its area should reach a U-value of 0.16 W/m²K. Insulation alone is not usually notified to building control. How the rules work across the UK.
Questions about sheep's wool or natural loft insulation in Hereford
Do you cover all of HR1?
Yes, we cover the HR1 postcode district and the districts around Hereford.
Can you visit Hereford outside working hours?
Ask about early, late or weekend appointments when you get in touch, and we will tell you honestly what we can offer.
How do I pay for work in Hereford?
Payment terms are set out on your quote. We never ask for payment on the doorstep or in cash.
How deep does natural insulation need to be?
It depends on the product's thermal conductivity. Some need slightly more depth than mineral wool to reach the same U-value, which we allow for on the quote.
Is sheep's wool insulation worth the extra cost?
In an older breathable house, or if you care about the material, often yes. In a modern semi with plasterboard ceilings the extra cost buys little performance.
