What is loft ventilation?
Most pitched roofs are ventilated at the eaves, sometimes with high-level vents as well. Insulation pushed into the eaves can block that path, which is why we fit ventilation trays. More about loft ventilation.
- Soffit, tile or ridge vents as specified
- A note of air leaks from the house that need sealing
- Eaves trays where insulation could block airflow

Fixed written price
The price on the quote is the price you pay. It only changes if you change the job, or if we find something hidden, such as rot, and you agree the change in writing first.
Plain-English advice
We explain what we find in plain English, and say so when nothing needs doing.
Eaves kept clear
Insulation is held back from the eaves so the loft can still ventilate.

How much does loft ventilation cost in Caernarfon?
This work is not an energy-saving material for VAT, so it is standard-rated if VAT applies. Where it is done alongside insulation, the quote shows each part separately.
Building regulations in Wales
Wales has its own Approved Document L. Insulation alone is not normally notified, but conversions need building control. How the rules work across the UK.
Questions about loft ventilation in Caernarfon
Is loft work in Caernarfon different from anywhere else?
The method is the same, but older terraces, cottages and newer estates each have their own quirks: lath ceilings, low pitches or trussed roofs. We plan for the loft we find.
Will I get a written quote for work in Caernarfon?
Yes. Every quote is in writing with the work, the price and what is included, so you can compare it properly.
Do you take on jobs outside Caernarfon?
Yes. We also work in Llangefni and Bangor (Gwynedd) and elsewhere in Gwynedd.
Does my loft need ventilation after insulation?
A cold loft needs a path for outside air, usually at the eaves. New insulation must not block it, which is why we fit eaves trays.
Will extra vents make my house colder?
No. The vents ventilate the loft above the insulation, not the rooms below.
