What is a loft ladder?
The ladder has to suit the floor-to-ceiling height, the hatch size and the space on the landing where it lands. Ladders with an integrated insulated hatch are the neatest option because they replace the old hatch completely. More about a loft ladder.

Plain-English advice
We explain what we find in plain English, and say so when nothing needs doing.
How much does a loft ladder cost in Llantwit Major?
This work is not an energy-saving material for VAT, so it is standard-rated if VAT applies. Where it is done alongside insulation, the quote shows each part separately.
Building regulations in Wales
Wales has its own Approved Document L. Insulation alone is not normally notified, but conversions need building control. How the rules work across the UK.
Questions about a loft ladder in Llantwit Major
Will I get a written quote for work in Llantwit Major?
Yes. Every quote is in writing with the work, the price and what is included, so you can compare it properly.
How soon can you visit a home in Llantwit Major?
We call you back to agree a time that suits you, and confirm the date in writing. Availability changes week to week, so we will give you the earliest slot we have.
Do you take on jobs outside Llantwit Major?
Yes. We also work in Cowbridge and Barry and elsewhere in South Glamorgan.
Can you fit a loft light at the same time?
We can arrange it. A new lighting circuit is notifiable electrical work, so we use a registered electrician.
What size hatch do I need for a loft ladder?
Most standard ladders need an opening of about 550 by 700 mm or more. We check the model against your hatch before ordering.
