What is a loft insulation top-up?
Before we quote we measure the existing layer in several places and check its condition. If it is wet, dirty, matted or full of droppings, laying fresh wool on top just buries the problem, so we say so and price removal instead. More about a loft insulation top-up.

Why book with us in Tyne and Wear

Dust sheets on the route in and every bit of packaging taken away.
We measure before we quote

Eaves kept clear
Insulation is held back from the eaves so the loft can still ventilate.

Questions about a loft insulation top-up in Tyne and Wear
Which council covers my address in Tyne and Wear?
Councils in Tyne and Wear include Gateshead, Newcastle upon Tyne, North Tyneside, South Tyneside and others. Your council matters for building control questions and some funding schemes.
Can you quote for several properties in Tyne and Wear?
Yes. Landlords and agents can send a list of addresses and we will survey them in as few visits as we can.
Which way should the top-up layer run?
Across the joists, at right angles to the first layer. That covers the tops of the joists, which otherwise let heat escape along the timber.
Is it worth topping up 100 mm of loft insulation?
Often, if the existing layer is in good condition and you also want a warmer house or a better EPC. On bill savings alone, a top-up from about 100 mm takes decades to pay back, so the case is strongest when it is done alongside other loft work.
