What is a loft condensation investigation?
We inspect the loft in daylight and by torch, measure moisture in the timbers, check the underlay, ventilation, insulation and the routes that let warm air in from the house, and look at the roof from outside. You get written findings with photos and a plain list of what we recommend, which may include work we do not offer. More about a loft condensation investigation.

This work is not an energy-saving material for VAT, so it is standard-rated if VAT applies. Where it is done alongside insulation, the quote shows each part separately.
Building regulations in England
In England, a loft insulated across more than half its area should reach a U-value of 0.16 W/m²K. Insulation alone is not usually notified to building control. How the rules work across the UK.
Questions about a loft condensation investigation in Accrington
Do you charge extra to travel to Accrington?
Not normally. Our guide prices include normal travel to Accrington. If an address needs a ferry or an unusually long journey, we tell you the cost before you book.
Can you visit Accrington outside working hours?
Ask about early, late or weekend appointments when you get in touch, and we will tell you honestly what we can offer.
Will I get a written quote for work in Accrington?
Yes. Every quote is in writing with the work, the price and what is included, so you can compare it properly.
Is condensation in my loft normal?
A little on the coldest nights can be normal, especially with old felt. Dripping, wet insulation or mould are signs to investigate.
Is the investigation fee taken off the work?
The investigation is priced on its own so the advice is not tied to selling work. You decide what to do afterwards.
