What is a loft condensation investigation?
We inspect the loft in daylight and by torch, measure moisture in the timbers, check the underlay, ventilation, insulation and the routes that let warm air in from the house, and look at the roof from outside. You get written findings with photos and a plain list of what we recommend, which may include work we do not offer. More about a loft condensation investigation.

No pressure selling

Fixed written price
The price on the quote is the price you pay. It only changes if you change the job, or if we find something hidden, such as rot, and you agree the change in writing first.

This work is not an energy-saving material for VAT, so it is standard-rated if VAT applies. Where it is done alongside insulation, the quote shows each part separately.

In Scotland, insulating an existing loft does not normally need a building warrant, but the building standards still apply. How the rules work across the UK.
Questions about a loft condensation investigation in Castle Douglas
Do you cover all of DG7?
Yes, we cover the DG7 postcode district and the districts around Castle Douglas.
Can you visit Castle Douglas outside working hours?
Ask about early, late or weekend appointments when you get in touch, and we will tell you honestly what we can offer.
Do you take on jobs outside Castle Douglas?
Yes. We also work in Kirkcudbright and Dumfries and elsewhere in Dumfries and Galloway.
Can loft insulation cause condensation?
It can expose an existing problem: the loft gets colder, so the same moist air condenses more readily. Ventilation and sealing air leaks put it right.
Is the investigation fee taken off the work?
The investigation is priced on its own so the advice is not tied to selling work. You decide what to do afterwards.
