What is a loft condensation investigation?
We inspect the loft in daylight and by torch, measure moisture in the timbers, check the underlay, ventilation, insulation and the routes that let warm air in from the house, and look at the roof from outside. You get written findings with photos and a plain list of what we recommend, which may include work we do not offer. More about a loft condensation investigation.

Why book with us in Cornwall
Fixed written price
The price on the quote is the price you pay. It only changes if you change the job, or if we find something hidden, such as rot, and you agree the change in writing first.
No pressure selling
You get everything in writing and decide in your own time.
Plain-English advice
We explain what we find in plain English, and say so when nothing needs doing.
Clear contact details
Your quote says who to call with questions before, during and after the work.
How much does a loft condensation investigation cost in Cornwall?
This work is not an energy-saving material for VAT, so it is standard-rated if VAT applies. Where it is done alongside insulation, the quote shows each part separately.
Building regulations in England
In England, a loft insulated across more than half its area should reach a U-value of 0.16 W/m²K. Insulation alone is not usually notified to building control. How the rules work across the UK.
Questions about a loft condensation investigation in Cornwall
How do I book a survey in Cornwall?
Send the form or call us. We call back to agree a time and confirm it in writing.
Can you quote for several properties in Cornwall?
Yes. Landlords and agents can send a list of addresses and we will survey them in as few visits as we can.
Can loft insulation cause condensation?
It can expose an existing problem: the loft gets colder, so the same moist air condenses more readily. Ventilation and sealing air leaks put it right.
Is the investigation fee taken off the work?
The investigation is priced on its own so the advice is not tied to selling work. You decide what to do afterwards.
