What is raised loft boarding?
Laying boards straight onto the joists compresses the insulation to the joist depth, which can halve its value, and can trap moisture under the boards. Loft legs screw to the joists and carry the boards at the right height. More about raised loft boarding.
- Moisture-resistant chipboard or OSB boards
- Full-depth insulation under the boarded area
- Loft legs fixed to the joists
Why book with us in Denbigh
Boarding done properly
Storage boards go on loft legs, never straight onto the insulation.
We measure before we quote
Existing depth, joist spacing, wiring and the tank are checked, not guessed.
Tidy work
Dust sheets on the route in and every bit of packaging taken away.
Fixed written price
The price on the quote is the price you pay. It only changes if you change the job, or if we find something hidden, such as rot, and you agree the change in writing first.
How much does raised loft boarding cost in Denbigh?
This work is not an energy-saving material for VAT, so it is standard-rated if VAT applies. Where it is done alongside insulation, the quote shows each part separately.
Building regulations in Wales
Wales has its own Approved Document L. Insulation alone is not normally notified, but conversions need building control. How the rules work across the UK.
Questions about raised loft boarding in Denbigh
What do I need to do before you arrive in Denbigh?
Clear a path to the hatch and, if you can, move stored items away from the area we will be working in. Tell us about anything heavy or fragile.
Do you charge extra to travel to Denbigh?
Not normally. Our guide prices include normal travel to Denbigh. If an address needs a ferry or an unusually long journey, we tell you the cost before you book.
Do you cover all of LL16?
Yes, we cover the LL16 postcode district and the districts around Denbigh.
Can you board the whole loft?
We can, but we usually advise boarding only what you need. Every boarded area costs more and makes later checks under the floor harder.
Is loft boarding included in VAT relief?
No. Boarding is not an energy-saving material, so it is standard-rated if VAT applies, while the insulation underneath can be zero-rated.
